Medical Technology and personal health assistance are our answer to demographical challenges of our society. With our research we contribute to fulfil the human need for saftey, health and well-being.

Demographic changes and the development of costs of the public health system are important social issues. Novel technologies and services for personal health assistance will play a prominent role in the future. With the Medical Technology Test and Demonstration Center METEAN we support companies of the medical technology sector to speed up time to market by faster developing and launching novel products.

METEAN is a key project of the Fraunhofer "Personal Health" Innovation Cluster. The Test and Demonstration Center which is run by the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS, is located in the Hospital of the University of Erlangen (Universitätsklinikum Erlangen.) In close cooperation with the Hospital and the University of Erlangen (Albert-Ludwig-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg) we offer the possibility to evaluate medical devices and equipment in clinical and field trials.
